About us
Reyna Castillo opened Vellichor in 2009 with four chairs and a rule that nobody here would ever stop learning. There are fifteen of us now. The rule stands.
The story
The name is a word for the wistfulness of a used bookshop, and Reyna chose it because that is how she wanted the salon to feel: unhurried, a little surprising, full of things worth discovering. Cherry Creek gave us tall windows and good neighbours. The clients gave us everything else.
We close one Monday a month for education and send every stylist to at least four classes a year. It is expensive and it is the whole point.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to book, or can I walk in?
Book if you can. We keep a few walk-in slots each day for cuts and blowouts, but color and chemical services need time set aside.
How do I know which stylist to book?
Tell us what you want and we will match you. Levels (advanced, master) set the price and reflect years and training, not how good the haircut is.
Can I bring a photo?
Please do. Two or three photos and a sentence about what you like in them tells us more than any words.
What if I do not love it?
Tell us within a week and we will adjust it at no charge. That is the promise in the headline.
Is there parking?
Privacy policy
On this demonstration site the privacy policy is not yet written. On the live site it will sit here and cover booking details, the newsletter and photographs taken in the salon.
Careers
We take on two assistants a year and hire experienced stylists when a chair opens. Paid education, a Monday off each month for it, product at cost, and a team that will notice your work. Send a short note and three photos to [email protected].
Cancellation policy
Your appointment is time set aside for you. If you need to change it, please give us 24 hours' notice. Cancellations inside 24 hours are charged at half the service price, and missed appointments at the full price. Color and chemical services over two hours ask for a card on file when you book. We know life happens; tell us and we will be reasonable.
